After the hiring process itself, the most important next step is the development of the skills and talents of each employee. OAT provides the means by which employees gain access to the right training for specific competencies or expertise as determined in his/her development plan. It contains the dynamic knowledge database associating skills and training while providing employees a one-click registration in real-time and online. From the perspective of management, OAT provides real-time control of the training budget at all levels as well as control of all job-related training efforts. OAT gives managers the tool to ensure that employees pursue the right training and that such training reinforces the competencies and expertise required in today's challenging corporate environment.
First, OAT starts with well-defined job families and job roles into which employees are assigned and form part of the individual's profile. Each job role has a specific range of competencies and expertises assigned to it. Details about course content are available on-line as are class schedules. Once the employee has selected the desired courses, an email is automatically generated and sent to the supervisor and other pre-determined managers for online real-time approval. The supervisor can access realtime summary information about all direct-reports, i.e. their training status, budget amounts and time expended as well as the status of approvals, i.e. approvals given, due or overdue either with respect to himself or a manager at a higher level. Realtime online reports are available for managers summarizing training activity, budget amounts expended and hours used by employees for training purposes. OAT cover all types of training, in-house or remote, instructor-based or computer-based, on-line or off-line, balancing class loads etc.
A Realtime Online Monitoring Panel allows supervisors and administrators, according to their respective level of privileges, to access Realtime Statistics and to drill down to the information on a specific employee. Data can be imported from legacy corporate or HRIS systems. Direct interface with SAP, PeopleSoft, J.D.Edwards and other HRIS Core systems is available on demand. This solution can be also structured as a complete turnkey package or as an ASP model.
