Employee expectations have risen dramatically in recent years, especially after the tight labor market of 1999-2000. Education and skills development plans notwithstanding, employees expect to have first crack at job openings throughout the corporation, including jobs in other divisions and foreign locations. Corporations have responded with much more than a job-posting effort, but have put in place an easy and intuitive system for accessing the career opportunities on a 24/7 basis and have a response to their application for posted jobs.
The OGCMS system provides a comprehensive solution to this issue. Normally the hiring manager or the HR management posts a job and its requirements selected from a database of competencies and skills, job definitions and possibly salary range, A posting is published with an expiration date after which the position is opened to outside candidates. An employee is able to apply online for any of the positions that are posted. This application is first routed to the HR Management who screens the applicant and communicates with him/her after reviewing the applicant's accomplishments. If the applicant qualifies, his profile is sent to the hiring manager. The HR Manager works with the hiring manager to select the relevant competencies and expertises required for this position.
A Realtime Online Monitoring Panel allows supervisors and administrators, according to their respective level of privileges, to access Realtime Statistics and to drill down to the information on a specific employee. Data can be imported from legacy corporate or HRIS systems. Direct interface with SAP, PeopleSoft, J.D.Edwards and other HRIS Core systems is available on demand. This solution can be also structured as a complete turnkey package or as an ASP model.
